With chronic illness, the last thing you need is “just a cold” or an upgrade ~ chest infection

For context - an example
Last time someone generously breathed on me and gave me a cold, it was right after my 2nd lumpectomy surgery. The coughing was so intense I ended up with costochondritis (inflammation of the cartilage of the ribs) for several months - where every cough felt like my ribs were cracking from the inside.
Then came the steroids where my face inflated like a balloon (just in time for the renewal of my passport photo)
So yes, sometimes I wear a mask but not because I'm worried about the headlines... But because I'm protecting the progress I've fought hard for...
When your body is already working overtime, even something small can knock you sideways... this isn't being dramatic, I'm being careful. if you're ill... keep your distance
Respect the bubble… It matters more than you think…
